Since I've learned some mind mapping tips from yoyo (one of my best friend in girls' high school), It'll be great if I can apply it to my work. During the past 3 days, I'm preparing materials of object-oriented analysis/design for training sessions @ III in May 2004. I found mindmap is quite helpful while concepts have to be organized as relational objects instead of linear ones.
Meanwhile, it's said that mind map gives a clear visual picture of domain context at the time you read it. But the map itself still needs explanation from the person who draws it because only the person can tell the story of his mind :p
I'm trying to fulfill the notes part in order to make every item more clear and readable. Some of my colleagues gave very useful feedbacks so I added information and links about how these bubbles are connected.
About this mind map
Domain Context :
Object-oriented analysis and design (Methodology).
Description:
According to Unified Process, we pick up 2 disciplines (Requirement, Analysis & Design) to explain major activities and concept about how to perform related tasks.
- The Map
- Outlines for the map
Why the map is drawn:
Every time I give lectures about OOAD, I have to reorganize the whole concepts, disciplines, activities and its relationship on paper according to the target audiences. Due to the complexity of RUP, I try every way to make myself clear with slides and demo but the effect is limited. While reading Craig Larmen’s Applying UML and Patterns, figures in this book gave me some ideas about how to address the relationship between artifacts from each discipline.
Of course, this mindmap is protected by Creative Commons License. You’re free to use this materials under limited conditions. Also, I'll be glad if you guys can give some feedbacks.
