Greeting from Rocky Mountains, Colorado

I owe this entry to LD for a while.

Before summer came, LD went to Rocky Mountains to breathe some different air.

Rocky Mountains stretch from northernmost Canada to New Mexico, crossing Midwest United States. LD went to the Rocky Mountains National Park located in Colorado. There are several mounts over 3,000 m above sea level in the park. The highest peak is Mount Elbert which is 4,399 m above sea level. (FYI, the highest peak in Taiwan is Mount Jade which is 3,950 m, and the highest one in Japan is Mount Fuji which is 3,776 m.) LD told me that he had to wear more and more clothes on the way to the mountains. As the view changed from lowland meadows to subalpine forests, he felt the shift in temperature. The landscape there is totally different from what you are used to in cities. Nothing hinders you from seeing far there. Time runs slower there. Problems that bothered you don’t matter there.

The picture of the postcard was taken on the Trail Ridge Road which is 48 miles long, including the highest point of US highways, 3,713 m above sea level. I can image how LD was pleased when driving on this road.

“Hi,
The landscape on the road is amazing although it’s really dangerous to drive. If you get chance, you must visit here to have an adventure! --- 3/30/07, LD”

Although he didn’t write much, that word, “adventure”, indeed seduces me~
Although I can’t breathe the special air there, I own a blink of freedom when seeing this postcard. Thanks, LD!

Sweet Sweet Sweet “Night Nurse”

Two persons sit on the sofa in a small living room. Cozy sunshine slightly brightens the room from shutters. They sometimes hold hands, sometimes wink or pout rakishly, sometimes pinch each other’s calves. Sometimes the lovely temperature just makes them wanna take a nap irresistibly but feel pitying to let go at the same time.

Those are the images I visualize when listening to “Night Nurse”.

Night Nurse
By Dean & Britta from L'Avventura, 2003

You are the treacle in my pie
You are the splinter in my eye
You make the ice melt, the butter run
You are the ink stain, you are the one

Sleep together the milkyway
Sleep forever and a day
Lovely jewels in joy designed
La la la la...

I am the local, I am express
I am a tourist in a summer dress
I am the night nurse, I am the most
I am the visitor, you are the host

Sleep together the milkyway
Sleep forever and a day
Lovely jewels in joy designed
La la la la...

My wings are clipped
My drinks are sipped
My lips are lipped
My lid is flipped

I am the night nurse
I am the most
I am the visitor
You are the host

Sleep together the milkyway
Sleep forever and a day
Lovely jewels in joy designed
La la la la...
