Put People under Your Thumb

"You need to put people under your thumb." My boss told me today. When he said this, he pressed and squeezed his thumb on the table like that there was a disgusting ant under his thumb.

He didn’t mean that I need to disrespect or take advantage of people to prove I am right or to get what I want. However, he expects me to stand for what I believe; to speak up when I have a point of view.

I wished to death that there was my nauseous uncertainty of myself under his thumb, but at the same time, I was fully aware that I am the only one who can accomplish it.

Somebody has once told me, "You have to fight in front of people."
My boss also told me some similar santences. (But I can't exactly remember his beautiful English.)

Obviously, we are facing the same problem.

Yeah, we really need to work on that.

For me, my lack of confidence is one problem. Another is my lack of knowledge. It seems that sometimes epistemic violence is a necessary, not to dominate conversation, but to promote discussion or to continue dialogue. ah......

still a long way to go......
Octopus!! Let's fight!!

親愛的ㄚ龜
加油喔~~

Dear Aven,

我會的,你也要加油喔~
不要太硬撐知道嗎!!

這條路
好像是想要走到那裡
就不得不硬撐

只希望硬撐得開心點

那就開心點吧~

既然決定走這條路,要多點信心啊,別想東想西的喔
