亭仔腳偵探團團員募集, Verandah Quest Invitation
福爾摩莎可能是世界上目前仍唯一將騎樓法制化的國家，但也因為騎樓而讓地處環太平洋地震帶的福爾摩莎吃了不少苦頭。日本時代因幾次的地震，殖民政府便已針對騎樓的耐震能力而在法規上加強其抗剪力的能力；九二一時，因為包商偷工減料而讓騎樓軟腳的後果也再度引起了騎樓存廢的討論。討論討論到最後通常不了了之，但民間倒是趁著這好機會好藉口快手快腳地把騎樓封起來好多出一塊可以做生意的空間...
說騎樓是福爾摩莎各大島獨特的鄉鎮風景應不為過；但事實上，騎樓這種遮陽避雨的建築構造其實世界各地都可以找到。郭肇立老師說連瑞士這種高緯度高海拔的國家都可找到騎樓，應是為了避雪並讓室內外間多一個中介空間而設置的。在東南亞，經過英國殖民的香港、新加坡與馬來西亞都可在華人街或印度人街區找到騎樓；在西歐，就我們所去過的英國、荷蘭也可以看到一些建築物設置騎樓。
這是位於倫敦的Leadenhall Markets，舊市場旁新建的大樓也配合Leadenhall Markets入口兩側原有的短短騎樓設置一道長廊，使避雨的功能更為完整而成為名正言順的騎樓。拍這照片時挺有藤森老師「雨天決行」的意境！只不過雨好冷！風好凍啊！

我不確定每天看店的老闆跟老闆娘們懂不懂這些學者們的艱澀論點，我只知道，這個老闆娘每天都要洗衣服的亭仔腳，因為個人的使用特性，已經從介於公共與私人中間的三不管地帶，變成ㄧ個具有特色的小角落；木製的洗衣板倚著斑剝的綠色磁磚，襯著生命力堅韌的景天科植物，靜述著屬於使用者的空間故事。

Dieng-a-ka: A sustainable urban space in regional architecture

Abstract
The thesis focuses on Dieng–a-ka widely exist in Taiwan, southern cities of China, and across Asia as the subject, which is manifested in four chapters for describing the regional architectural urban space and its pulses of sustainable development in the living culture. Content summary:
Foreword
Chapter I, Dieng–a-ka's colonial vs. modernistic tendencies: which serves to validate the historical background how Dieng–a-ka are formed in Asia by analyzing the process in which the Dieng–a-ka are developed in urban space, and its evolvement from the common agreement, to the colonialism, to a modernistic trait.
Chapter II, Dieng–a-ka's regional vs. ethic traits: which describes the Dieng–a-ka as an urban space and the living culture that derives from it, and its developmental differences in different regions and ethic usage, which in turn come to form the varieties in urban land division and urban landscape.
Chapter III, Dieng–a-ka's communal use vs. private use characteristics: which describes the conflict arisen from the public ownership claim vs. private ownership clam over the ownership claim of Dieng–a-ka space, and the compensation and management issues that it confronts.
Recapitulations: Dieng–a-ka's sustainability which serves to explore changes and challenges Dieng–a-ka faces in Taiwan's urban and rural development issues, and a niche base for its future sustainable development.

騎樓曾差點淹沒在建築全球化的浪潮中，所幸現今多元的視點馬上就出現對建築全球化的反思而得以在法規中暫時存活下來
然而接下來該怎麼走似乎會是個更大的問題！問過一些在業界的朋友，建築師通常沒有機會（產權）也沒有意願（太平凡）討論什麼是福爾摩莎下一個世代的騎樓街屋建築...
唉！以前作設計時怎麼不會想到這個問題呢？真是千金難買早知道

Dieng-a-ka是verandah的意思吗？
那个研讨会很有意思的样子。
之前我写那篇balcony的论文时找资料找很久都没有关于这些东西的书！！
但现在英国的很多骑楼market好像有很多都没有很物尽其用，很多人似乎都会把他们无视。他们都贪图方便地到supermarket或者连锁店买东西，很无聊。。。

噢by the way, 你说起这种style的建筑物，我第一个想起的东西就是那个在barry island, south wales的 那个建筑物kind of brighten the whole place。
barry island's such a legend! 不过可能only ppl who have lived in wales would get it? hahahaha.

Dieng-a-ka 就是閩南話的「亭仔腳」，也就是騎樓。新馬華人會稱之為五腳基 (five foot way)。在亞洲地區，亭仔腳通常會「被」標上 verandah ，日本人殖民臺灣時也一樣沿用ベランダ。即便是傳統建築的簷下或廊下等空間也會被英國人填上 verandah。可是在英語系或歐洲國家的話，同樣的空間通常會用 ardade 來指稱。同時使用 arcade 這詞的還有如 Barton Arcade 這樣形式的商場（Milan, Naples 也都有這種形式的商場) 。
至於那研討會啊，年代久遠也早忘記當時有沒有整理資料了 這類討論通常會集中在期刊裡，用學校圖書館網站搜尋看看有沒有相關的資料吧。另外，A. King 的 Bungalow (1984) 應該也可以提供一些背景資料。
大賣場化也跟母語英文混用一樣，都已經是全球/ 美國化現象囉。
