Origami Box - Four Season

Here comes my creation during the weekend! I did a similar box when I was in high school and gave it to my grandma. She loves it. Just suddenly felt like doing it again, after 10 years.....This time I created four boxes. Each one of them represents a season - Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter. I use Japanese origami paper. Each ball is folded by using 20 pieces of 2cm paper. Each ball is only 1.8 x 1.8 cm. The box is 7 x 7 cm. I love placing them all together on the table. They are so cute and delicate. I am going to fold more after my brother bring me my origami books from Taiwan!

Origami Interactive Ad

因為我很喜歡摺紙 所以今天在Yahoo 網站上看到這個廣告時 很興奮 Ford的廣告利用三種動物表現車子的性能 長頸鹿代表Endless Flexibility, 馬代表的是 265 Horsepower, 喜鵲代表的是 Panormic Vista Roof 當一隻隻動物被拆開變為色紙 就出現車子的圖形 其實以前在Joseph Wu的Origami網站上也看到許多他與其他廠商合作的平面廣告 可是看到網路廣告這是第一次 !

Cause I like origami a lot, I was so excited today when I saw this on Yahoo U.S. homepage. This interactive ad uses three origami animals to express different features of the car. Giraffe is endless flexibility, horse is 265 horsepower, and bird is panoramic vista roof. When the paper was unfold, the image of cars shows up. I saw print ad with origami design on Joseph Wu's origami page before, but with interactive ad it is the first time!

Origami: 小飛馬 Pegasus

This model is also from Satoshi Kamiya's book (1995-2003). I love the design of the wings. My paper is a little bit too small therefore I can not make enough pleats on the wings as it's shown in the book otherwise it will look very beautiful. I enjoy the folding process, but my favorite step is the last step that when you try to open the wings. It makes me feel like the pegasus is alive. It's kinda like when you fold an origami crane and the last step is to pull the wings the opposite direction.

There is another pegasus model designed by Anibal Voyer which I fold couple years ago. The steps are easiier but the model is also simple and pretty.

Origami: 原始長毛象

哇哈哈哈，在經過重重困難之後，我終於摺出來這隻原始長毛象了，這隻長毛象有長長的鼻子、兩根尖尖的象牙、兩個眼睛、肥肥的屁股和小尾巴，摺晚以後就覺得愛上它了，把它放在枕頭旁邊睡覺！真的是很可愛。這個模型我摺了兩次，第二次才摺出來，第一次的紙都被我摺破了，不過好像所有神谷晢史的作品都是這樣，沒有破紙修想完成。! 下次我要去買有紋路的棉紙摺，看起來會更有質感! 摺紙作品很麻煩，都不知道要怎麼收藏，常常摺完就送人了，我想要去買很多透明的小盒子之類的把我摺好的作品一個一個收起來，因為有很多東西真的摺過一次就不會想再摺了，除非有很多的時間和精力，有的話也想和下一個作品挑戰。不過真的很佩服她們怎麼想得出這麼複雜的模型呀，還把它的 diagram畫出來，真的很厲害!

Works of Satoshi KAMIYA 1995-2003

這本書Works of Satoshi KAMIYA 1995-2003是在Origami USA的網站上發現的。一看到就馬上被封面上那隻紅色的龍吸引，實在是太厲害了，馬上激起我挑戰高難度摺紙的好勝心，請bibi幫我買回家!這一本書要$50美金呢! 謝謝bibi.

本書收入Satoshi Kamiya 神谷哲史1995-2003年的作品。神谷哲史現年24歲，年紀輕輕就已在日本著名的電視節目- TV Champion 中得到摺紙比賽的冠軍。本書收入了他的19 項作品，每一個都非常精緻細膩，難得的是有很精確的圖解，還有指示要用多大張的紙摺，所以只要細心的跟隨每一個步驟，通常不會有"卡住"的地方。本書的作品都有一種古世紀神密的味道，除了封面這隻Ancient Dragon外，還有另一隻存在阿拉伯神話中的Divine Dragon- Bahamut，存在日本神話中的神豬Inoshishigami、麒麟、飛馬、女巫、和恐龍。

小黃鳥是我第一個摺出來的作品，雖說是小黃鳥，應該要用黃色的紙摺的，可是沒有色紙了，就變成咖啡色的.....這個模型好像是跟據一個很有名的電動玩具角色創造的，我覺得他短短的翅膀跟尾巴很可愛! 等我搞到大張色紙的時候，我就要來跟封面的巨龍挑戰了!
